BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

Abdulaziz A. Abdulaziz is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Kano State chapter. His poems are widely published in Nigerian newspapers and the Internet and in anthologies. Abdulaziz has participated in writing workshops and is currently LEADERSHIP newspapers’ correspondent in Kano.

Adegbenro Emmanuel Jolaolu is a Ph. D candidate in the Department of English, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, Nigeria. He currently teaches English and Literature at Mayflower School, Ikenne Remo, Ogun State.

Adeniyi Raphael A an undergraduate was born on December 21, 1988 and writes from Abeokuta.

Aderemi Adegbite is the CEO of Kowry Kreations Media. He is a past General Publicity Secretary, Association of Nigeria Authors, Lagos Chapter (ANA Lagos). A member of Canadian Federation of Poets, Association of Nigerian Authors, Pen-circle of the University of Lagos, Association of Young Journalists and Writers, PEN Nigeria and an Alumnus of School of Media and Communication, Pan-African University. His creative works have appeared online in literary magazines – Poetic Diversity, Black Biro, Forward Press, Blotter Magazine and One Ghana One Voice.

Adione Chukwuma Olisaemeka Joseph is a graduating student of Computer Science at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

Awoyomi Olusegun Afolabi is the Proprietor of Classique Royal Kids Academy, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Ayodele Arowosegbe a graduate of Physics Major was born and raised in Western Nigeria.

Ayodele Toyin an indigene of Kwara State was born in 1984. He has a degree in Business Management from the University of Jos, Nigeria. He currently lives and works in Lagos.

Babatunde Adediran has a strong passion for reading and writing. He is a member of HEC Forum and Jackies’ Club, Ibadan.

Bada Yusuf was born on September 15, 1989 in Agege, Lagos, Nigeria. He has a Diploma in Desktop Publishing from CHS Computer Institute, Lagos.

Becky Adenuga is a graduate of Mass communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Born on December 19, 1986 in Lagos, Nigeria, her poems have been published in The Nation Newspaper and anthologies such as: Hope of the Zealots and CROSSROADS: Anthology of Poems in Honour of Christopher Okigbo.

Bello Abiodun studied English at the University of Ibadan where he was introduced to Creative Writing and African folklore by Remi-Raji Oyelade and Sola Olorunyomi, respectively. In 2005 he won the Okigbo Poetry Prize. His poetry has been published in Idoto and the Nigerian Tribune.

Chitzi Ogbumgbada is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors. He was the pioneer editor-in-chief of the Dais. He is a regular contributor to print and online magazines. In 2009, his poem came third at the maiden edition of the Embassy of Italy in Nigeria Poetry Competition.

Chuma Anikwata a literature teacher at Unique Comprehensive Secondary School, Awka, hails from Ifiteani Village, Agulu, Anambra State. He is the author of a drama entitled “A Welcome Stranger.”

Daniel Etim Inyang was born on June 2, 1988. He is a student of English at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

Emeyazia Iwediokpulu Chukwudi an indigene of Delta State is a student of Business Administration at the Lagos State University.

Faith Uvosire Geoffrey an indigene of Taraba State loves writing, singing, cooking and making good friends.

Femi Morgan is a poet, writer and journalist. He has contributed regularly to www.Sarabamag.com, an online literary magazine. Morgan is also the author of the collection of Poetry, Silent Drummings (2008), a book on the socio-political problems in Nigeria. He is currently working on a collection of love poems.

Grace Atuhaire writes from Uganda.

Ibukun Filani a native of Owo, Ondo State has a B.A in Linguistics from the University of Ilorin. He is currently a graduate student of the Department of English, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

Ikeogu Oke hails from Akanu-Ohafia in South-Eastern, Nigeria. He holds a B.A. in English and Literary Studies from the University of Nigeria and an MA in Literature from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His poems, short stories and criticism have been published on both sides of the Atlantic since 1988. He is also a performance poet. On 14 October, 2010, he performed his poem titled “My Country at Night” at a dinner to mark the end of the Presidential Retreat for Power Sector Reform Investors held at the State House, Abuja, Nigeria.

Ikwuakor Kelechi born on 4th February, 1992 hails from Isuikwuato Local Government Area, Abia State.

Ismail Bala writes in English and Hausa. He teaches English at Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria, where he specialises in modern and contemporary poetry, and literary theory. His poetry and translations have appeared in the UK, the USA, Canada, India and South Africa, in journals such as Poetry Review, Ambit, New Coin, Okike, A Review of International English Literature and Aura Literary Arts Review. Born and educated to university level in Kano, he did his post-graduate studies at Oxford. He is a Fellow of the International Writing Programme of the University of Iowa; currently working on his first collection of poems.

Isoje Iyi-Eweka Chou was born and raised in Nigeria. She obtained her Masters of Arts degree from York University, Toronto. Her writing has been published widely in publications such as FIREWEED and REVUE NOIRE. Recent publications include www.africanwriter.com and the international journal CHIMURENGA volume 15.

Kevin Kezabu a thirty-five old Ugandan is married with four daughters. She teaches English at the Uganda Christian University. She is interested in women and related issues. She is a member of Uganda Women Writers Association (FEMRITE).

Kole Ade Odutola is a teacher, poet, photojournalist and activist. He is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors and a founding member of the Coalition of Nigerian Artists. His collection of poetry, The Poets Fled, was published in 1992. His second, The Poet Bled, appeared in 1998. His poetry has also been featured in online and campus publications, literacy magazines, and journals such as Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment. He has given many poetry readings at locations in the United States especially in New York City. Kole lives in Gainesville, where he teaches Yoruba at the University of Florida.

Oladele Noah Adesogo a native of Ekiti East Local Government of Ekiti State was born in Benue State, Nigeria. He lives in Osogbo, Osun State.

Olayiwola Awakan GrPr a theatre/media personality is the CEO of ArtsBeat Concepts. He has a B. A. in Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University. His plays include: The Animal in You and Crows of the Dawn. He has contributed to Five Hundred Nigerian Poets, Hope of the Zealots and Awo Jesu (a movie).

Oguntoyinbo Shola Phebian is a graduate of English and Literary Studies, Onabanjo Olabisi University.

Oludare Richards is a prose-poet, sonneteer, and prolific songwriter.

Olumide Michael Akinola hails from Igbara-Oke, Ifedore Local Government in Ondo State. A graduate of the Department of Mass Communication, Olabisi Onabanjo University, and the prestigious FRCN Training School; he loves reading, writing poems and meeting creative people.

Osumuo Chijioke Enyinnaya is a teacher and author with www.americachronicle.com.

Otim Jackson Oyugi has a Bachelors’ Degree in Development Studies from Makerere University, Kampala. Based in Uganda, he works with Ideal Solutions- a firm that produces documentaries and writes biographies and autobiographies.

Nnamani Chiemerie was born on 17 August 1994 in Nkanu West Local Government Area, Enugu state. He is a student of Federal Government College, Enugu.

Nnamdi Onyirioha writes from Lagos.

Nnena Munachimso is the second in a family of three. She hails from Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra state.

Samson Olusola Olatunji is a teacher and author of several story books for children as well as adults. His published works include: Too Late to Mend (Prose), Dayo’s Fortunes (Play), The Twins’ Dreams (Children), Substance or Shadows (Prose), The Rescue Mission (Prose), Made in Heaven (Play) etc.

Sanni Olumayowa Olufemi is a student of the English Department, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria.

Servio Gbadamosi is a poet, lyricist, performing poet and emcee. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. He began his writing career in July 2003 when he suddenly discovered poetry in his search for an appropriate medium of self-expression. He has completed two collections of poetry; his works have appeared in Sentinel Poetry Online and CROSSROADS: Anthology of Poems in Honour of Christopher Okigbo…

Su’eddie Agema lives in New Karu, Nassarawa and Makurdi, Nigeria. His collection of poems, SECOND COLLECTION: Shrine Tale is expected to be published in the last quarter of 2010. He blogs online at: www.sueddie.wordpress.com.

Taiwo Olusola Emmanuel is a graduate of Mass Communication, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria. He is the Creative Director of Pen-and-Ink Kreations- a publishing cum creative boutique outfit. His published works include: Naked Songs (Poetry) and The Animal in You.

Tam Gogo-Ibulubo is a journalist with the Rivers State Television, Nigeria. He read English Education and has a PGD in Business Management. His work, ‘Touch the Sky’ for teenage readers was short listed for the 2009 ANA/FUNTIME children book award.

Terh Agbedeh trained at the University of Jos. He writes poetry, prose and drama. ‘Seasons’ won him tickets in the 2010 Lufthansa German Airlines Valentine Poetry contest. He works as a journalist and is presently on the Arts, Reviews and Lifestyle desk of the Lagos-based National Mirror newspaper.

Theodore Nyingifa from Bayelsa state, Nigeria was born on the 20th of July 1984. He is a graduate of English from University of Lagos, Nigeria.

Tolu Akinwole was born on December 30, 1988. He is a student of English at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

Uchenna Nnodum a 300 level Law student of Evans Enwerem University lives in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.

Umma Aliyu Musa is currently the Associate Director of Admissions, American University of Nigeria. A member of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Kano Branch, she has traveled extensively in the United States and Africa, living in or visiting Niger Republic, Cameroon, Senegal and Mauritania. She has participated as a fellow of AILA under the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in the U.S. She is a member of NACAC Admissions Counselor in the U.S. and part of the SNCC Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee 50th Conference that took place in the U.S. She is currently undergoing her PhD program at the Afrikanistik Department in University of Leipzig, Germany

Uwineza Mimi Harriet is a writer, poet, and human rights defender. She studied Social Sciences, History, Religion and Philosophy. She is a member of Uganda Women Writers Association (FEMRITE), women who help each other in the field of publication, selling of their books and improving writing skills through seminars and other means. She is a commissioner of gender in the Human Rights Defenders Network, supported by Amnesty International in Kampala, Uganda.

Yeku James is an alumnus of the English Department, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He learnt the craft of writing from such prominent writers as Niyi Osundare and Sola Olorunyomi. His works have been published in Journals, and have won awards and cash prizes.

Yemi Soneye was born in 1991. He is presently in his final semester at a Nigerian University. He has appeared or awaiting publication in the following: The Sun Newspaper Nigeria, www.NaijaStories.com, www.SentinelNigeria.org, www.Sarabamag.com, The Criterion, Palapala among other literary journals.
